Luna2 Founder & Designer Melanie Hall conceived this ground-breaking private hotel back in 2007, which is a vastly different approach to the ubiquitous ‘modern Bali’ style. The ultra-modern, minimalist design is reminiscent of great modernism of the past, with a clear vision of the future. Its somewhat ‘South Beach’ simplicity was intended as a backdrop for Hall’s signature “FUNked-up modernist” interiors and furniture design.

Melanie Hall loosely refers to her design style as “FUNked-up modernism”; with references to modernism and 60’s pop, Hall injects innovation of the future, and adds a sense of humour into the mix – a distinct characteristic of the Luna2 design ethos which “Respects the past, welcomes the future and likes to have fun in the process!”

The interior design, furniture, carpets & fabric are all custom-designed and produced by Hall, using long-trusted factories from around the region, but largely in Jakarta. Hall adds further interest and timelessness to her own custom designs by adding key European designer pieces and artwork throughout.

As such, elements of nostalgia, futurism and fun are fuelled throughout Luna2 private hotel.
